This could get long.....
Our pastor's wife watched the Louie Giglio video with us at the youth retreat. She was very moved by it and asked our pastor to have our congregation watch it as well. Last night, I had the honor of watching that video once again. Let me tell you something, I have no idea how you can watch this video and not know that God is amazing.
I want to start off by saying that Louie is one awesome speaker. He gets your attention and he knows his stuff!
He starts by talking about the universe and how God created the Heavens and the Earth. Genesis 1:1. In Psalms 33:6, it says, "He merely spoke, and the heavens were formed and all the galaxies of stars." All he had to do was breathe the stars. Isn't that awesome? For us, stars are just these little twinkling things in the sky at night. Have you ever researched them? Do it. It's amazing to hear just how massive these things are! Louie compares the Earth to a golf ball in the video. He talks about the size of the stars. He also shares some amazing photos of the stars. I want to share a few with you as well.
This one is of Canis Majoris- the largest star we have found. It doesn't look that big, but it is. Here are some facts I found online. (site)
VY Canis Majoris is the largest star known to man. It is a red Hypergiant, located in the Milky way and measuring between 1800 to 2100 solar radii. One Radius is equal to the current radius of the Sun and it is approximately 432,450 miles (695,500 kilometers). VY Canis Majoris is so large that if our Sun were replaced by it, its surface would extend to (or maybe even pass) the orbit of Saturn. In Earth terms it would take 70 000 000 000 000 000 (70 quadrillion) Earths to fill up the VY Canis Majoris.
Does that not make you feel small? Very small? Sometimes in this world, we consider ourselves huge compared to other things. This video shows you that we are just a tiny dot that you can't see with the naked eye in this universe. God is HUGE!
Amazing right?
Ok, there more. Have you ever seen a photo of the core of the Milk Way galaxy?
Let me do the honors.....
Yes, that is a cross up there. How can you not believe in the Almighty God? How can you not know that HE created the Heavens and the Earth? How can you not believe that HE breathed out the stars of the universe?
And the thing that tops it off.....Are you ready for this???
Ever heard of LAMININ? Uh, me either until this video. Let me give you the definition.
"Laminins are major proteins in the basal lamina (formerly improperly called "basement membrane"), a protein network foundation for most cells and organs. The laminins are an important and biologically active part of the basal lamina, influencing cell differentiation, migration, adhesion as well as phenotype and survival.[1]"
Ok, that's what I was thinking too.....WHAT?!?! I have no clue what that means! Let me just sum it up from what I remember. It's a cell adhesion molecule. It's what's holding us all together. Still, I was a bit like what is this guy talking about?! Well, that me tell you that we have laminin all over in our bodies. You might be thinking, Ok, so I have laminin in my body...what's the point? Let me SHOW you what laminin is.....Ready for this???
Yes, this is laminin. It's all in our bodies. Little crosses in our bodies. OUR CREATOR knew exactly what He was doing!!! I was in awe watching this. I got the Holy bumps. How can you not believe that was are created by the Lord God Almighty?! I felt soooo blessed to have watched this video. It's so moving. I suggest you find this video and watch it. I mean it. Have your church watch it, your youth, your family, anyone and everyone.
I am going to leave you with an image I found on google images.
